How do you connect with the different rhythms of your cycle?

After a miscarriage last year and having one of my fallopian tubes removed, I began to observe the changes in my body as she healed and processed the part of her that was taken away.⁣

In modern day life, womb ‘dis-eases’ happen because women have lost touch with their bodies. ⁣We have poor diets, we don’t know what it means to rest and we’ve become ashamed of our bodies. We also carry the emotional traumas from our mothers, as well as past incarnations that we mistake as our own. Centuries of conditioning by patriarchal societies, as well as the over-sexualization of women distort the perceptions that we hold about our bodies and ourselves.⁣
⁣
Women’s bodies carry a language of its own that most of us don’t understand, nor have we been taught how to translate the wisdom inherit in our fluids, our rhythmic cycle and blood. When we understand what our wombs are saying to us through our menstrual experience, we tap into a powerful source of ancient wisdom that we can harness into creating a life full of harmony, purpose and fulfillment. ⁣
⁣
I know that I have not been creating lately, and this is because every month for about a week or two (sometimes even more) I allow myself to take a step back to simply listen and to observe my body. When we can hone into the ebb and flow of our bodies, we reconnect with the feminine creative and intuitive powers that are within our nature as women.⁣
⁣
I’m currently in my luteal/premenses phase, which calls for more stillness- a time for more reading, learning and self-reflection. My yoga practice slows down, social gatherings are limited and I crave for wholesome, warm meals. ⁣

How do you connect with the different rhythms of your cycle?⁣ How are you creating the space to honor the needs of your body? ⁣
