If this year could embody any word for you, what word would it be?

The word “Strength” has been coming up a lot in my meditation this year. Along with resolutions, I also like to choose a word (or as I’d like to think, it chooses me) to explore and embody as a kind of “superpower.” In the past, the words have been pretty passive, like “patience,” “compassion,” “knowledge.” So when the big, bold, and mighty “STRENGTH” suddenly shows up in your meditation bedazzled in broadway lights….. I can assure you; it’s a sign.⁣ 🤣
⁣
Honestly, I didn’t quite know what to do with this word. It almost felt like a sense of ambiguity. Strength felt colossal compared to little Emyli, who’s only 5ft 2 and weighs about 115lbs. So I did what I’ve always done to understand the very weird and unfamiliar stuff in my life: I brainstormed. ⁣
⁣
What is strength, really? What is it to me? ⁣
As it turns out, strength can mean a lot of things. It can mean showing up for yourself, just as you are in your mess and unreadiness. It can also mean building the core strength to hold onto a handstand. To cultivate strength can be standing firm in your ground and honoring the ways of the heart. In either case, I realized one thing. I lacked much of it my whole life, and this year is all about exploring strength and what it means to have this superpower in my own mind, body and spirit. ⁣

📖 Day 9: If this year could embody any word for you, what word would it be? Write this word in the middle of the page and find any words or feelings that come up for you. ⁣
⁣
💡Reflection: What would it feel like to ‘gift’ yourself this word as a superpower? How would you own it? What would you do with it?⁣
